NOTD: Pink Lemonade!

Mmmmm, what's better than a tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer day? Not much!! I prefer to split it half lemonade and half tea to make myself an Arnold Palmer, but anything along those lines is tasty.
This was inspired by a picture my friend found on Pinterest. There seem to be a bunch of great ideas for nails on there, maybe I should look at it more often.

Nail Polish Used:
ELF "Neon Pink"
Sinful Colors "Pinky Glitter"
Diamond Cosmetics in Bold Yellow and White

NOTD: Blue with Mod Dots

This is a very modern and fun design. The dots are supposed to look like a kind of gradient. I thought these were some interesting colors to use, but all together they look cool! The look a bit like fish scales.
I have three blues that look like this Sally Hansen blue, one I bought and the other two were gifts from friends. I am thinking about doing a comparison post to show how similar they are and show which one is the better deal!

Nail Polish Used:
Sally Hansen "Blue Me Away!"
Nicole "A Lit-Teal Bit of Love"
Wet n Wild "Ebony Hates Chris"
E.L.F medium nude
Pure Ice "Twinkle"
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"

NOTD: Neon Splatter

This sure was messy! I put down a plastic bag on top of the desk I work at so nail polish wouldn't get everywhere! Good thinking. I also discovered something I knew but at the time I did this, I wasn't thinking. Don't EVER put nail polish thinner on a styrofoam plate. It bubbles and melts.......

All you have to do is mix a few drops of nail polish with thinner together till it is thin enough to splatter on nails. Take the nail polish brush and gently tap on it to get the drops. You should tape around your nails or use Vaseline to make cleanup easy. As I said, this gets messy!!

Nail Polish Used:
E.L.F "Neon Pink"

Pure Ice "Hot Tamale"
Sinful Colors "Me First"
Sally Hansen "Blue Me Away!"

Day 11: Eggs and Chicks

I think this was supposed to be a cutesy design with pretty Easter eggs and a fluffy chick, I decided to switch that up. I have the eggs but in a different form! Bacon and eggs. Muhahaha, I have breakfast on my nails! I posted on Facebook that I painted bacon eggs and I got a great response from one of my friends. "Eggs and Bacon Nails are the answer. How to best start a nail chewing habit is the question!!"

Nail Polish Used:

NYC "Wine Bar"
ELF "Nude"
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White
+ Americana "Saffron Yellow" -- I didn't feel like getting out colors to mix and this was sitting right in front of me!

NOTD: Galaxy 2

I said I was going to do another galaxy look, here it is! To see my old one, click here.
I think I got a little carried away with my sponging, it doesn't look like the kind of galaxy nail art that I had envisioned. It is still pretty! I used my star shaped glitter and even made it glow in the dark again. I really enjoy this softer color combination.

Nail Polish Used:
Wet n Wild "Ebony Hates Chris"
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"
Nicole "Miss Independent"
ELF "Royal Purple"
Wet n Wild "Teal of Fortune"
NYC "Starry Silver Glitter"
Nicole "She's Lily Something"
Claire's purple glow in the dark

Swatches: E.L.F Polish

I found these wonderful polishes at Tj Maxx yesterday! I love the quality and the affordability of ELF products. I have purchased other collections from Tj Maxx but it don't usually find them that often. These four polishes were $4.99, not too bad!!

They only needed one coat, I think I used two on the nude color though. They all were smooth and the color is very rich. The weirdest thing about them is the smell. I don't really know how to describe it, it doesn't smell like normal nail polish. It is very strong and the best word I can think of is 'new'. It is not a bad smell, it's just unlike any other nail polish smell.... strange..

I am wearing the "Party Purple" right now! It's very lovely.

Those flaky things you see on "Smoky Brown" are from flocking powder. I didn't notice till I posted this picture.

NOTD: Fuzzy Funky Flocking

I broke into the flocking powder I got for Christmas! With it I created this 80's color leopard print funky nail art. Everyone was freaked out that my nails were fuzzy but they then thought it was super cool! I let people touch them to feel for them selves that they were fuzzy. It is super simple to get this look and to apply the flocking powder. After painting on a base color that is similar to the flocking powder you want, let it dry and put a top coat on it. While the top coat is still wet, sprinkle on the powder and then shake off the extra. Press it into the nail and that is all there is to it. I am putting the video I  used in this post so you can see some other cool ideas.

Here is where my flocking powder came from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BerrysCreations

Polish Used:
Sinful Colors "Unicorn"
Elf  "Neon Pink"
NYC "Water Street Blue"
Diamond Cosmetics in black
+ blue and dark pink flocking powder

Day 23: Inspired by a Movie

The movie 27 Dresses with Katherine Heigl was my inspiration. I wanted to represent my favorite dresses and follow have a theme in my nails. On each nail I put a flower on it that was either in a bouquet she held with the dress or was a color on a dress. All of the flowers are roses except the ring finger which has a hyacinth on it. This was sooooooo much fun to come up with the designs and ideas this challenge. I also included all the dress that inspired these nails. This is a very long post, sorry!

Nail Polish Used:
Pure Ice "Platinum"
Wet n' Wild "The Wonder Yellows", and "Sunny Side Up"
NYC "French White Tip" and "Big Apple Red"
Sinful Colors "Why Not", "Unicorn", "Purple Diamond", and "Flower Girl"
E.L.F "Neon Pink"

Day 11: Polka Dots +Entry to Nail Narcotics Giveaway Challenge

For polka dots I decided to do dotted grapes! I also chose grapes to enter in Nail Narcotics' Giveaway which is food themed!! With my dotting tool I made these fun purple bunches and tried to do a vine around them. On my other nails I just made a pretty dot tip.
