NOTD: My FFA Officer Team

Keeping up with my FFA themes this month, here is my officer team! I put FFA on my right thumb and FS on my left for my school. It sure was a challenge painting these faces. I sketched them out roughly first so I kinda knew where I was going. I seriously do not have good drawing skills. I can draw freaky people like this and flowers.
It took my an hour and a half to paint everything. I mixed most of my own colors to customize the skin tones and hair. I even made everyone have eye color! You will notice the strange looking person on my left pinky. Was that on purpose? or was it simply due to being the last nail and I was tired? I'll let you decide...

NOTD: Halloween Town

One of my favorite Halloween movies is Halloweentown. If you've never heard of it, seriously, look it up! Its a Disney kids movie, haha.
I did some nails based off of it! On my thumb I have Benny the tax driving skeleton when he is angry, the magical wand thingy that helps break the spell, and the Jack-o-Lantern that is a figure of the town. I didn't know what else to paint so I just put H and T for Halloweentown.. So creative.... Again, I waited too long to take these pictures and they are a little chipped.

Random: All about my Tea

A while back, my friend from Chantal's Corner posted about her tea collection. I said I was going to take pictures and post all about mine, here is my family's collection!!  I love fruity flavored and rose flavored tea. I don't drink sweet tea very often, I don't live far enough south! I like it hot and iced, loose leaf, and in a bag.

 The whole thing

This is from when I visited the Celestial Seasonings factory in Colorado! It was lots of fun and I got to try a bunch of different types of tea.

My tea basket for loose leaf.

Blooming tea! I still haven't figured out how to get it to bloom though....

I got this set for Christmas a few years ago. It is almost gone.

I discovered a tea place when I was in Indianapolis, IN, and fortunately, I live near one!! They have delicious tea. Both of these have a rose flavor.

 Random hotel tea.

 Celestial Seasonings

Bigelow and Twinings.

Plain black tea to use in big pitchers and to add more tea to my flavored tea when I am making more than a mug.

NOTD: Red and Sparkle

In my last post I mentioned about this new matte Avon polish. Here is how I made it prettier!! I couldn't stop looking at my nails all day. I just kept staring at them. It was weird, I have to admit.... My friends all agreed however that it is beautiful.

Nail Polish Used:
Avon "Red Velvet"
Color Club "Snow-Flakes"

Collection: Avon and Deals

This first set of nail polish is by Malibu Beach. I picked up the set at Ross Dress for Less. My friend works there and got them for me on the store's double discount day, I paid her back at half of the original price! Not that they were expensive to begin with but, it's always good to find a deal.

They are again nameless like all of the nail polish I have from Ross. They do take a very, very long time to dry and even with my fast drying topcoat, they smudge. Oh well, I'll still use them. They also smell really weird....

Here is my first textured polish! I went shopping with my friends and they really wanted to go to Forever 21. I gravitated to these tables full of buckets of polish. I restrained myself and only got one. It doesn't have a specific name, the bottle just says purple/silver. I love this purple color. I am not too impressed with the texture though. For some reason, it seems to disappear after a few days. Maybe they all do that? Don't know.

These next two came from Avon! My mom let me pick out a few things and I chose these two. The pink is called, "Mambo Melon" and the blue is,  "Galaxy". "Galaxy" has holographic like qualities that make it very pretty. I am wearing it on my toes right now.

Remember how I said I wouldn't buy Seche Vite again? Well.... I did. I went back to Sally's when my topcoat ran out and they had this great bargain: buy one topcoat and get the basecoat free. It was worth it. I figured out how to not make it shrink so bad. I also have thinner to add when it gets thick and I can stand the smell. Maybe I'll try something else next time. There better not be any deals.....

And finally, another Avon. I got this one at the Kansas State Fair. I always get a polish from the Avon lady that sells there. They are at a small discount and I don't have to wait for them to come in the mail. This one is called "Red Velvet". It is matte and looks orange in some lights and red in others. In another post I will show how else I wore it aside from just matte.

NOTD: Blue and Gold FFA Elegant

I think this looks very elegant and formal. I am calling it my FFA formal. National Convention is coming up this month and I am going to be doing some FFA themed nails along with Halloween!
I started off this look with just the gold French tip but, today I added gold rhinestones. I think the rhinestones add that extra punch.

Nail Polish Used:
Avon "Splendid Blue"
Sinful Colors "Flower Girl"

NOTD: Bluebirds

This is the first design I have done with only acrylic paint! I mixed the colors to look like a gradient then failed at painting lines that are supposed to resemble reeds and a bird with a huge head. My skills have been improving though! I also made a lightbox!!!! Don't my pictures look nice? It was super easy to make.

Paints Used:
Americana "White Wash"

Folk Art "Metallic Blue Pearl"
              "Brilliant Blue"

4th of July Nail Art Challenge: July 2nd

Ok, so I didn't finish my nail art challenge. I actually did this one and a fireworks one but I got mad at the fireworks one and didn't feel like redoing it. Then I got busy and dropped off the face of the Earth. Here is the last one I did that I was happy with.
Cookout! It is a picnic table cloth, hamburger, hotdog, watermelon, and a lemon to make lemonade. I thought it was genius. It took me a very long time to paint. I mixed all of the colors with nail polish till I had everything just right. I don't think I'm going to list all of the polishes I used for this one. I don't really want to dig them out. On to the next!

Hello again!

Hello everyone!!!! I am very sorry that I have been gone for so long. I was super busy and didn't post. Then another week went by, and another... Anyway, I am back now and I have lots of posting to do! I still need to post about my tea collection, another Liebster award, things I have purchased in the last couple months, and Halloween nail art! Get excited! I am back and will be on a regular schedule once again.
