4th of July Nail Art Challenge: July 2nd

Ok, so I didn't finish my nail art challenge. I actually did this one and a fireworks one but I got mad at the fireworks one and didn't feel like redoing it. Then I got busy and dropped off the face of the Earth. Here is the last one I did that I was happy with.
Cookout! It is a picnic table cloth, hamburger, hotdog, watermelon, and a lemon to make lemonade. I thought it was genius. It took me a very long time to paint. I mixed all of the colors with nail polish till I had everything just right. I don't think I'm going to list all of the polishes I used for this one. I don't really want to dig them out. On to the next!

Day 12: May Flowers

I broke out my fimo slices for this one! I have been waiting to try them out since Christmas. They feel a lot different than I thought they would. I knew which flower I wanted to use, so I came up with the rest of my nails based on the colors in the flower. I had just seen a look by The Perfectly Polished Life and it is what inspired me to do the blue and silver French manicure. I then thought the dots would add a little something extra and pull the orange from the flower across the nails.

Day 11: Eggs and Chicks

I think this was supposed to be a cutesy design with pretty Easter eggs and a fluffy chick, I decided to switch that up. I have the eggs but in a different form! Bacon and eggs. Muhahaha, I have breakfast on my nails! I posted on Facebook that I painted bacon eggs and I got a great response from one of my friends. "Eggs and Bacon Nails are the answer. How to best start a nail chewing habit is the question!!"

Nail Polish Used:

NYC "Wine Bar"
ELF "Nude"
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White
+ Americana "Saffron Yellow" -- I didn't feel like getting out colors to mix and this was sitting right in front of me!

Day 9: Fresh Cut Grass

This is supposed to be very light, and pretty. It doesn't really scream grass but it still captures that look!
It has been super cold here this week. It snowed today for crying out loud!! Snow! In April! In Kansas! Who heard of such a thing. At least it didn't stick for more than an hour! I have a feeling we are going to go from winter right into the heat of summer. Yippee....

Nail Polish Used:
NYC "High Line Green"
Avon "Olive Green"
Diamond Cosmetics in lime
Wet n Wild "Hallucinate"

On a side note, I got a new top coat! Seche Vite was on sale at Sally's. I had to get it, I have heard so many good things. It is great! It dries my nail polish very quick and I do not have creases on my polish in the morning!!!!!

NOTD: Galaxy 2

I said I was going to do another galaxy look, here it is! To see my old one, click here.
I think I got a little carried away with my sponging, it doesn't look like the kind of galaxy nail art that I had envisioned. It is still pretty! I used my star shaped glitter and even made it glow in the dark again. I really enjoy this softer color combination.

Nail Polish Used:
Wet n Wild "Ebony Hates Chris"
Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"
Nicole "Miss Independent"
ELF "Royal Purple"
Wet n Wild "Teal of Fortune"
NYC "Starry Silver Glitter"

NOTD: Egg Shell Nails + 100th Blog Post!

This is my 100th blog post!!!! Awesome!! I think it so much fun to blog about nail polish and I look forward for the next 100 after this and after that! Thank you for coming back to my blog, it means a lot to me! :DD

Now on to..... Egg shell nails. Yup, egg shells. Kinda weird isn't it!?! My fuzzy nails were weird but egg shells are pretty interesting!

I asked my dad to save the egg shells when he made his breakfast. After washing them, I proceeded to dye them. I put water and food coloring in plastic cups then put a teaspoon of vinegar in so it would help color the egg shells. I mixed colors to get the purple and orange shells. I let them be for an hour then checked them. They weren't ready yet so I left them for another half an hour. I took them out and let them air dry for a while.

I painted all of my nails white then broke up an egg shell. I crunched it up with the bottom of a nail polish bottle and then sprinkled it onto my nail that had wet top coat on. I put more top coat on top of the egg shells. This actually took me a while, crunching them up then making sure I liked it on my nails.

My nails sounded cool when I hit them together, hehe.

The white I used was just NYC's "French Tip White".

NOTD: Fuzzy Funky Flocking

I broke into the flocking powder I got for Christmas! With it I created this 80's color leopard print funky nail art. Everyone was freaked out that my nails were fuzzy but they then thought it was super cool! I let people touch them to feel for them selves that they were fuzzy. It is super simple to get this look and to apply the flocking powder. After painting on a base color that is similar to the flocking powder you want, let it dry and put a top coat on it. While the top coat is still wet, sprinkle on the powder and then shake off the extra. Press it into the nail and that is all there is to it. I am putting the video I  used in this post so you can see some other cool ideas.

Here is where my flocking powder came from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BerrysCreations

Polish Used:
Sinful Colors "Unicorn"
Elf  "Neon Pink"
NYC "Water Street Blue"
Diamond Cosmetics in black
+ blue and dark pink flocking powder

31 Day Challenge: DAY 31!!! Re-create Your Favorite Challenge

I made it! I am here! YES!!!!!!! IT IS DONE! I stretched this out waaaaaayyy past 31 days and I am so happy I have reached the end! Each day was fun and I enjoyed doing the challenges. It's great knowing I finished all 31 days!

For the final day, I re-created my black and white look from Day 7. Before telling anyone today what the inspiration was, I had a friend say, "they look like little butlers!". I saw this design on YouTube a while ago and it works perfect for today. I made the black matte and used white and silver, just like my first tuxedo design. There are little clear rhinestones under the french tip that I decided to go over with the matte. On my little finger, the rhinestone popped off and sadly, I do not have any more clear stones. I made a white dot to replace it, you can't really tell in the pictures. (Maybe you can a little). This is also going to kick off my winter and Christmas themed nail art, coming soon!

Nail Polish Used:
NYC "Black Lace"
Pure Ice "Beware"
Diamond Cosmetics in white
Hard Candy "Matte-ly in Love"
+ mini clear rhinestones

Day 29: Inspired by the Supernatural/ Sci-Fi

I am going to switch up the name of this day to Sci-Fi. I did Doctor Who nails and I realllllly wanted to do them for this day but he is not exactly supernatural. I decided that I could do what ever the heck I wanted on my blog, so, I altered the day just a tiny bit.

These were based off of the seasons with Matt Smith in them. I did his little bow-tie and suspenders, a red Dalek , his little green sonic screwdriver, a Tardis, and the DW logo. Thank you to my brother who let me borrow his sonic screwdriver as a prop.

Polish Used:
Pure Ice "Celestial"
NYC "Big Apple Red", "Black Lace", "French White Tip"
Revlon "Gold Coin"
Diamond Cosmetics lime, white, and black
Art Deco in red and silver glitter
